In just the last few years, the technology in air conditioners has advanced tremendously. Our technicians stay on the cutting edge of the air conditioning industry to deliver reliable high-quality units with expert installations that deliver exceptional results.
As a general rule, newer air conditioners last between 15-20 years. Older air conditioners have an expected life span of about 10-12 years. The lifetime of your air conditioner depends on how much it was used and how well it was maintained. Air conditioning replacements are likely necessary when:
- Your unit breaks down frequently
- You’re A/C is older than ten years old.
- Your energy bills have noticeably increased
- You’re A/C unit uses Freon
As of January 1, 2020 Freon will no longer be produced in the US. Because R-22 Freon is not good for the environment, it has been discontinued. Don’t panic just yet if your air conditioner uses Freon; you can still use it. But just as a “heads-up”, if your A/C unit breaks down and needs Freon for repairs, you are looking at a replacement.
